Hello everyone, and Happy Easter! With a week to go, you still have time to get some cards made and sent. I love sending Easter cards to family and close friends. Of all the holidays, this is the one for which I will send a handmade card, even above Christmas. It’s a beautiful holiday at a beautiful time of year. Here’s a card which did not take much time at all, but looks like you put a lot of love into it. Time to break out your aqua painter and get artsy!
One of the messages of Easter is rebirth and new beginnings, so I wanted to paint a sunrise. I started with the sun, then added the pinks around the sun, and finally the lighter green at the bottom. Once those were dry, I added the trees with a darker green. Letting the paint dry before I added the trees ensured that I didn’t get a dark green blotchy mess at the bottom of the scene. Be sure you use a good quality watercolor paper because these aqua painters can really soak the paper.
Here is a video tutorial so you can watch how I made it. Happy Easter!
