Hey friends, today I have an interesting abstract art project for you! I made this mini masterpiece super easily using two materials that are new to me, but not new “out there”, I’m just a little late to the party. The “paper” that I used for the art piece is called Yupo paper, and it’s not paper at all. It is polypropylene, or plastic. Because it is plastic, it is non-porous which makes it ideal for the medium I used, alcohol inks. For just a few dollars of materials, I am set up for many hours of wonderful art creativity and lots of beautiful handmade projects to bless others with.
I used three colors of Ranger’s Adirondack alcohol ink; Citrus (pale green), Aqua (light blue), and Stream (turquoise blue). It dries really fast, so to keep mixing the colors, I also used Ranger’s Alcohol Blending Solution. The tools I used were a spritzer tool and straw to blow the ink around, and a Q-tip to dab at the ink. Take a look at the video below to see exactly how it all came together.
I hope you enjoy this card and that it inspires you to try out alcohol inks! See you soon!
