Alcohol Ink You’re a Blessing Card

March 15, 2018 By Julia Carmichael 6 Comments

Hello friends,
Today’s card is one I made for a friend’s upcoming birthday (shh!) and I loved it so much I wanted to share it despite the fact that I didn’t shoot a video as I was making it. I’m sorry about that, but I will follow up this post with another couple posts that use the same technique for blending alcohol inks. In a nutshell, I used Yupo paper (which is a plastic material, not paper at all), I coated the sheet with some 91% rubbing alcohol, then laid down drops or lines of alcohol ink. A few strokes with a paint brush, and some blowing through a straw to move the ink around, and voila! You have a tiny art masterpiece!

I just love the blues, purples, and greens, so I tend to gravitate toward those cooler color schemes. This card also includes a vein of silver through the center. I’m loving that shine! To mimic the shine of the silver, I used silver glimmery paper from Stampin Up for the vertical bar, and picked up the blue with a very thin border of Pacific Point paper. I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point as well, from the Blessed by God set by Stampin Up. Finally, the card base is Smoky Slate. Thanks to Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #141 for the design! This is a blog I just today discovered, and I’m stoked that I did because I love their design ideas. You should check the site out and submit your creations!

Have a wonderful day and God Bless!

I do not sell products. I would suggest a Stampin Up demonstrator or Ebay for older sets. Good luck!
