Hello again, I’ve returned from a brief vacation and after putting aside all thoughts of card making for a couple weeks, I’m getting back in the groove again. A little pause was just the thing I needed to get re-inspired and refreshed. Today’s card is a twist on a couple cards I’ve seen elsewhere (Kim Gavarra, Dawn Olchefsky). I think it’s okay to borrow other people’s ideas and tweak them, don’t you? I try to always give credit however to the people who inspired me.
This thank you card is made on a Whisper White base, and uses Night of Navy and Lucky Limeade paper as accent colors. This Just Believe set is beautiful and classic, I’ve used it for so many different occasions. I stamped the grass stamp in Lucky Limeade and then inked over the flowers in a Midnight Muse marker (I don’t have a Night of Navy marker, so I used the closest color I have). The flowers turned out a little blue-green, but I think they’re ok. I squiggled my marker on scratch paper after doing this to get rid of residual green. Tearing the sheets of card stock gives it some texture, just free hand it, don’t worry if they don’t line up exactly. The ribbon and button give it a little finishing touch. Have a great weekend!
