Hello friends! Here’s a card I put together for my son who’s turning, you guessed it, 18! What kind of card does one make for an 18 year old boy? That question really stumped me because he doesn’t care much about handmade cards like my daughter does. But there’s NO way I’m going to buy a card! This card idea came from a Stampin Up sister in England, Michelle Last. Basically the idea is this. Get yourself a 3 3/4″ x 5″ rectangle of Whisper White card stock. Gather every Happy Birthday stamp you own or can borrow from friends. Go nuts! Well, you’ll want to stamp the largest images first, and fill in the blank spaces with the smaller stamps. Also, I find it interesting to have some pictures in there among the words, like the birds and cake. Once your collage is to your liking, put some numbers on the front, raised up on dimensional adhesive. I sponged the numbers so it would give the edges some definition. Since he’s a boy (young man), I kept to one color, Midnight Muse, but I think it would be really pretty in bright multi-colors, or do them all the same color except for one that you want to visually pop.
