Hi friends, I’ve been seeing this technique around, using different punches and papers, and I wanted to give it a go with my Stampin’ Up Elegant Butterfly Punch. I made them small so they would be good for attaching to a gift or a little note left on someone’s desk at work perhaps? The card measures 3 1/2″ square, and the center square with the butterfly measures 2 1/2″ square. The patterned paper is smaller than the white square above, about 2″ square, and it is taped down to the card front. Then I attached the butterfly layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals so there would be a shadowed effect of the finished butterfly. In order to center the butterfly correctly when punching it out, I marked a little dot in the center with a pencil, then when I slid the paper square into the punch, I just looked for the dot and tried to center it inside the butterfly as best I could. Because these cards are small, I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes set for the sentiments. Hope you enjoy, and thanks for stopping by!
