Hey friends! I’ve taken a little break lately to recharge and now I’m back with this summery birthday card for you. Stampin’ Up is launching their new catalog on June 1st, with many fun new products to check out. I’ll be showcasing some new things next month, but today’s card features the Summer Silhouettes stamp set which has been carried over from last year into the new catalog. Yay! I’m so glad, because it’s one of my very favorites of the whole product line.
This technique is called stamping off. It’s very simple; ink up your stamp and stamp once, then immediately stamp again but off to the side. This second stamping gives you the lighter background image. Try it with different color combos. Here I have used Bermuda Bay on the left, Pear Pizzazz in the middle, and Coastal Cabana on the right. The sentiment comes from the Wetlands stamp set.
