Hi everyone, today’s card was inspired by one made by Vicky Hayes in England. Thanks Vicky, for the inspiration! The technique used to make this beautiful watercolor vignette is actually quite simple. I took the small B acrylic block, stamped it about 2/3 with Pool party ink, 1/3 with So Saffron ink, gave it a light spritz of water, then stamped on a square of watercolor paper. Let the block rest for a few seconds on the paper to allow the paper to absorb some of the moisture. When I lifted it off the paper, I wasn’t quite happy with the position of the pool of blue inky water. So I pressed the block down a second time right on top, and when I lifted it, the pool was a little more spread out. As it dries, the watercolor paper soaks up the ink, spreading it out, creating a one of a kind mini-masterpiece. Tip: Don’t stamp your black birds and sentiment until it’s FULLY dry. Be patient! Take a look at the video tutorial below to see how it’s done.
