Hello friends, I have been away from the blog for a while and hope to be back now on a more regular basis. Life just got a little overwhelming for me and I had to step back for a bit. Today’s card is one that I shared yesterday with other Stampin’ Up friends at a regional conference here in the Pacific Northwest. It was a fun day with lots of new ideas shared, techniques learned, and inspirational projects. You can expect to see many new ideas here in the coming weeks as a result.
This Christmas card is what I call a KIS card, keep it simple. One layer of stamping. One layer of embossing. I heard someone once say you can tell how much someone loves you by how much sponging they did on the card they made you. If that’s true, then you will really be showing your love for the person who receives this card because it is sponged on two of the three layers. Fear not, sponging is quick, especially with Stampin’ Up’s new foam ink pads. They are so juicy, you barely have to touch the sponge to the pad and you’re good to go. I sponged the embossed layer with Crumb Cake ink so it would blend with the card base, and I sponged the sentiment layer with Early Espresso so it would really pop off it’s frame layer. Many thanks to Dawn Olchefsky for the design inspiration.
